The NFL’s most talked about couple, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and singer Taylor Swift, had big finishes to 2024.
Kelce saw his team clinch the AFC’s No. 1 seed with a 15-2 record, earning a bye week in the NFL playoffs. He also broke the Chiefs record for most touchdown receptions in franchise history with 77, passing Tony Gonzalez.
Swift, on the other hand, finished up her “Eras Tour” in early December, with the final venue in Vancouver, Canada. The tour, which spanned five continents and nearly two years, became the highest-grossing tour ever, earning well over $1 billion.
Now, both Kelce and Swift have received even more positive news to start the new year off right.
On Wednesday, the NFL revealed that Kelce has won the Walter Payton Man of the Year “Charity Challenge.” He was determined the winner of the challenge after a fan vote that was held between Dec. 5 and Jan. 6, beating out the other 31 candidates (one from each NFL team).
This marks the tight end’s second time winning the challenge, with his first coming back in 2020. Kelce’s foundation, 87 & Running, will receive a $30,000 donation from Nationwide in recognition of the win.
Less than two hours before Kelce’s win, Swift was named Billboard’s No. 1 artist of the 21st century as part of its recap of the first 25 years of the 21st century. Billboard mentions that her “14 Billboard 200 No. 1 albums and 12 Hot 100 No. 1 songs” helped her claim the top spot.
Swift also holds the women’s record for the most Hot 100 top 10 songs with 59 and the soloist record for the most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 86.
