Nicole Kidman shares interesting detail about filming ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ with Tom Cruise
If you’re a Hollywood couple, sooner or later, directors will ask you to shoot a movie together.
It’s one of the techniques that tends to work best in the industry, because audiences want to see how a real couple acts on a day-to-day basis, and the closest they can get to that opportunity is through movies.
In 1999, Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise experienced this when they were creating ‘Eyes Wide Shut’.
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Kidman revealed some of the ins and outs of the movie and what it was like working with Cruise, who was then and until 2001, her partner.
The director, Stanley Kubrick, contacted the two to shoot the movie. According to Kidman, the veteran director “took advantage” of the fact that the two actors were a couple and inspired the movie by their marriage.
