The difference between Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady is way bigger than some think, and here’s why…
While some fans hold Tom Brady as the ultimate player, others argue that Patrick Mahomes has eclipsed him.
Insights from players who have faced both quarterbacks add depth to this discussion. Super Bowl 50 champion Chris Harris Jr., who played in the NFL from 2011 to 2022, recently weighed in on this topic.
In a recent appearance on the Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams, Harris discussed his retirement and encounters with legendary players.
When asked who he perceived as the greater threat on the field-Brady or Mahomes-Harris emphasized their distinct styles and impacts.
Compared Brady with Mahomes
Harris praised Brady for his strategic approach, noting that the veteran quarterback used motion and formations to challenge defenders. Brady would cleverly position players such as Wes Welker and Danny Amendola to create advantageous matchups.
Meanwhile, Harris highlighted Mahomes’ ability to make crucial plays, particularly in high-pressure moments like the fourth quarter. While he expressed admiration for both quarterbacks, Harris ultimately sees Mahomes as the bigger threat on the field.

“With Mahomes, he has the legs effect to it, that’s different than Brady that he can add to the game,” Harris noted.
“He can make all the throws he can and he can throw on the run. That’s the difference with him and Brady. Brady couldn’t really throw too much on the run but in the pocket he’s A+.
