Former Cincinnati Bearcat standouts and NFL Pro Bowlers Jason and Travis Kelce are in Cincinnati, bringing their popular podcast to the Queen City. The Kelce brothers are taping a live episode of their podcast, New Heights, at the University of Cincinnati’s Fifth Third Arena on Thursday night. Both Travis and Jason are well-known figures in the football world, with Travis a 3-time Super Bowl champion and 9-time Pro Bowler with the Kansas City Chiefs, while the recently-retired Jason was a Super Bowl champion in 2018 and a 7-time Pro Bowler during his 13-season Philadelphia Eagles career.Ahead of the event on Thursday, Jason spoke on the impact that he and Travis hope to have with the live taping and why they chose to return to UC for the episode.”Obviously, Travis and I are both incredibly honored and it’s crazy that we’re being put in positions to do stuff like this,” Jason said. “Any time we come back, there’s just such a wave of emotion and memories that really hit you.”Jason Kelce twice earned second-team All-Big East honors in 2009 and 2010 at UC, with the latter year including a position change from left guard to center.”You spend so much time here, and as a student-athlete you’re so invested into the football program and university, you’re here nonstop and it’s such a big part of anybody’s career and life, that whenever you come back, it definitely hits you full force.”UC said the schedule of events will remain the same despite the venue change from Nippert Stadium to Fifth Third Arena due to rain. Parking lots opened at 3 p.m. and the doors to the arena opened at 5 p.m. The Lombaby Games are set to begin at 7 p.m. and the podcast – featuring Bengals players Joe Burrow and Orlando Brown Jr. – begins at 9 p.m.The Lombaby Games is a friendly competition series between UC athletes and academics, overseen by Jason and Travis, who will act as commentators and referees for each event. For more information on “New Heights” changing venues, click here.
