Draft analyst explains why Caleb Williams should “NEVER” be compared to Patrick Mahomes.
Caleb William is poised to be the NFL’s next great quarterback, with the talent and determination to succeed at the highest level. However, recent NFL history serves as a reminder that success in the league is far from guaranteed, particularly for quarterbacks.
ESPN NFL Draft analyst Matt Miller, speaking exclusively to talkSPORT, cautioned against comparing Williams to Patrick Mahomes, emphasizing the uncertainties of the NFL.
Chicago has done a great job of building a framework around [Williams], which is incredibly important,” Miller said.
“I would say 90 percent chance he’s a Pro Bowl quarterback and he’s going to lead Chicago to a sustained run of being a contender.
“But I wouldn’t want to say, ‘Hey, here’s the next Patrick Mahomes just waiting for the Bears to select him,’ because there’s too many risk factors.”
